Apprenticeships

We deliver dynamic training packages designed to meet the needs of employers and the Welsh workforce.

Over the past 30 years, we have developed a range of innovative methods for delivering training, utilising the latest technologies and online resources to enhance the learning experience and meet the needs of both the employer and employee.

We all know that Apprenticeships make sense, but did you know that the advantages they bring to your business are enormous.

Improve your bottom line
Apprenticeships deliver real returns to your bottom line, helping you improve productivity and be more competitive. Training Apprentices can also be more cost effective than hiring skilled staff, leading to lower overall training and recruitment costs.

Fill your skills gaps
Apprenticeships deliver skills designed around your business needs, providing the skilled workers you need for the future. They also help you develop the specialist skills you need to keep pace with the latest technology and working practices in your sector.

Motivate your workforce
Apprentices tend to be eager, motivated, flexible and loyal to the company that invested in them. Remember, an Apprentice is with you because they want to be – they have made an active choice to learn on the job and a commitment to a specific career.

The mixture of on and off the job learning ensures that an Apprentice learns the skills that work best for your business. Benefits that Apprentices can bring to your business include increased productivity, improved competitiveness and a competent workforce.

Manager at Abacare
"We have worked with Itec for a while now and they support our staff in terms of their learning and development. They are always extremely helpful and encouraging with our learners. I work quite closely with the assessors and i have always found them to be very helpful"

The programme is fully funded by the Welsh Government and European Social Fund although you will be required to pay the relevant national minimum wage.

The programme is available across your workforce but there is a priority to support employees aged 25 and under and anyone at management level (all ages). An Itec representative will be able to explain this to you further and discuss on an individual basis.

Depending on the sector and job role, an apprenticeship generally takes 12 to 18 months to complete.

Throughout the qualification, Itec will work in partnership with you to ensure it delivers the outcomes you want without distracting from your day-to-day operations.
A member of the Itec training team will visit your site a minimum of once every 60 days to evaluate the learner on the job and provide feedback to you. You will be required to offer some support and possible evidence input into the individual’s file.

The individual learns on the job and is assessed by a member of our training team whilst completing a portfolio of evidence. They do not attend college so there is no loss to your business and workforce although they are expected to complete some project work during working hours, away from their other duties.

Yes, the frame work is built for new and existing employees and is fully funded providing they meet the eligibility criteria.

At Itec we will develop a tailored training proposal for each employer so that it meets your business objectives. Our aim is to make the process as seamless as possible by removing the complexity of training your current staff or employing a new apprentice.
