FAQs

How much does an apprenticeship cost?

Employers can utilise the Apprenticeship Levy funds for these programmes.

For employers that do not pay into the Apprenticeship Levy, you can access 95% of the funding from the Department of Education.

Who is eligible?
  • Learners must be in a role where they can apply the skills.
  • Must be working at least 50% of working hours in England.
  • Be employed (not self-employed or freelance) on a PAYE Scheme. 
  • Should not hold the same or higher-level qualification in the same subject area.
How long does an apprenticeship take?

Depending on the apprenticeship, they generally take 12 to 18 months to complete the training.

How much involvement does it require from me, the employer?

Line manager support and guidance on this programme is essential. We need to understand what learning is required for your team member and how we can support this. We ask as a minimum; you attend a formal review every 12 weeks.

Can you train my existing staff?

Yes, the apprenticeship funding can be used for existing staff members.
