Shiny new start for Itec learner with gold award win and job offer
Katie Peace, a Jobs Growth Wales Plus learner at Itec who studied customer service Level 1, has won the Gold Award for Inclusive Skills: Customer Service at the virtual event for the 2023 Skills Wales Competition. Katie showcased her capabilities and proved she has the ability to deliver first-rate customer service.
A ceremony to commemorate Katie’s triumph was held in Cardiff’s Itec Centre. Along with Itec employees, Katie and her family went; the celebration was joyful and vibrant the entire time. Katie was overjoyed to learn she had won, and her joy only grew when it was revealed that she had been given the opportunity to join the Itec Customer Support Team permanently after a successful interview.
The night of celebration demonstrated that Katie had put forth an immense amount of work to get where she is now, and her achievement is well-deserved. The Jobs Growth Wales Plus program delivered by Itec helps learners like Katie gain the skills needed for the workplace, and provides the support to assist them in accomplishing their goals.
Adele Hughes, Operations Manager at Itec said: “We are thrilled for Katie, her hard work and dedication has truly paid off. Her professionalism and skill in dealing with customers has won her the top award at Skills Competition Wales, and she is a great role model to other learners who are undertaking similar qualifications. A huge congratulations to Katie, and her family.”
We would like to wish Katie every success in her new role with us and wish Katie a long and happy career with Itec.
