New Scheme Aims to get Every Teen in Wales Onto the Career Ladder

Thousands of young people impacted by the pandemic will be offered extra support to get into work this summer.

After navigating life through a pandemic, the school and college experience for teenagers across Wales has been far from normal and they are likely to be feeling nervous about the future.

If you’re a parent or carer of a teen who isn’t sure what they want to do after school, the new Jobs Growth Wales+ programme could be the answer. It gives 16-18-year-olds living in Wales, the skills, qualifications and experience they need to kick start their career, with support to get into learning at a higher level, whether that is through an apprenticeship or employment.

Plus, there is also support available via work placements, work trials, community projects, voluntary work and opportunities to complete qualifications ranging from Entry Level to Level 1 – depending on a person’s individual needs.
